Jerry Guyton received a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 1965. He then received is law degree from the University of Alabama in 1967. After law school, Jerry served three years for the United States Air Force with the Judge Advocate General's office and attained the rank of Captain. He returned to Alabama in 1970 and practiced law with the firm of Vinson and Guyton in Hamilton, Alabama until 1994 when he joined the firm of Fite, Davis, Atkinson, Guyton and Bentley, P.C.

Jerry served as Assistant District Attorney for Marion County, Alabama from 1972 until 1994. He also has served as Municipal Judge for the city of Winfield and for the city of Sulligent, Alabama. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winfield.

Jerry is admitted to the Alabama State Bar and is licensed to practice in the State Courts as well as the Federal District Court of Northern Alabama and the United States Supreme Court.
